We are firm believers that lab grown diamonds are the future of fine jewellery. As one of the first jewellers to recognise this, over half of our collection is now available as lab grown or ethically mined diamonds.
THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL
Lab grown diamonds are formed using state-of-the-art technology to imitate mother nature. They're created by scientists, and are handpicked and tested by gemmologists, ensuring all the quality, clarity and beauty you'd expect from a natural diamond - they are chemically and optically identical.
THEY'RE CONSCIOUS
A conscious and mindful choice, they are considered more sustainable or environmentally ethical, as they haven't been extracted from the ground, so their production has far less impact on our planet. Because they aren't sourced from mines, they're also conflict-free, making them more socially ethical.
THEY'RE ATTAINABLE
The process used to create lab grown diamonds is much faster than mined diamonds (by a few million years), so their price is more attainable, and you can often get more for your budget. It is also easier to create coloured lab grown diamonds than mining natural coloured diamonds, so you have a greater choice of colours, again, for less cost.

HOW ARE LAB GROWN DIAMONDS MADE?
Using an innovative fusion of art and technology, lab grown diamonds are quite literally 'grown' in a laboratory by scientists.
The process starts with a tiny shard of a mined diamond, a 'diamond seed', and uses state-of-the-art technology to replicate the natural conditions under which diamonds are formed underground in the earth's mantle. By applying extreme pressure and heat, imitating the volcanic process, the lab grown diamonds are made of carbon atoms in a lattice crystal structure - exactly the same as mined diamonds.
Luckily, lab grown diamonds grow much faster than mined diamonds, and rather than millions of years, it takes just a number of weeks for the carbon atoms to slowly crystalise on the surface of the diamond seed, evolving into a rough diamond.
Once ready, the diamond is handpicked and tested by a gemmologist, to be cut, polished and crafted into something beautiful.

Rare and beautiful, coloured diamonds are not something usually found at high street jewellers, and thanks to lab grown technology, we are one of the only brands offering this affordable luxury. Available in three bright, light, happy and meaningful colours; pink represents love, blue represents faith and trust, and yellow represents happiness and optimism.
In our eyes, coloured lab grown diamonds are extra-special, as there’s always an element of surprise. There's no guarantee of the finished result, allowing the elements to work their own unique magic.
DO LAB DIAMONDS COME WITH CERTIFICATION?
Yes, they do. Lab grown diamonds are certified to prove their size, quality and provenance, just like mined diamonds.
All of our jewellery pieces using lab grown diamonds at 0.25 carats and above, are sold with a diamond certificate. This certificate comes from an independent gemmological laboratory (e.g. GIA or IGI).
The only time a diamond may not be certified, is if the diamond is 0.25 carats or under. This is because certification is an exacting, expensive process, and wouldn't be cost-effective for smaller, less valuable diamonds.
